My name is Jackie Curts. I am rarely without a camera in my hands and see the world much clearer when I see it through a lens. I also enjoy sharing my passion and vision of the world. There are never shortages of subjects, as I see beauty and interesting opportunities all around me every day.
My life includes 25 years of service working in a zoo. This allows me to use my understanding of animals and their behaviors to connect people with nature through my photos. My animal experience also applies in my personal life. I live on a farm that gives me the opportunity to create animal portraits that capture their unique personalities and behaviors. The farm also includes the use of working dogs as part of the everyday operation. This gives me numerous chances to capture the beauty, grace and intensity of the dogs as they do what drives them. With the addition of my two children, I have had many more experiences in capturing their lives on camera. I also have two sometimes not-so-willing experimental subjects to practice technical aspects of my craft. The old adage of never work with children or animals is ignored as I love to put the boys and animals in situations that capture their interaction and wonder in a portrait. It also allows me to grow in my craft in a number of areas. Learning is never finished in this passion.
It is my most sincere hope to combine my passion for photography with my many experiences and learning opportunities to make the most of your photography experience. I will work with you to create a unique and quality product that will capture the essence of any subject that you choose.
